This is where we will post all the latest updates and news affecting your Society.
STOP PRESS! Please consider opening your garden for Woodbridge hidden gardens on Sunday 16th June 2019. We will be raising money for St Elizabeth Hospice by participating in their Great Garden Trail. Any help on the day would be greatly appreciated, as well as donations of cakes and plants to sell. Thank you!
Changes agreed at the AGM – January 2019:
Change of name
The official name of the Society will remain as The Woodbridge Horticultural Society, but it will now be known as the Woodbridge Gardening Club on all programmes, headed paper, etc.
Change of time of meetings
Meetings will be held in the evenings only (visits will continue to be at the appropriate time of day). The committee believes it is essential to the survival of the Society to encourage new members under retirement age. The Society has lost several members who were unable to attend in the afternoons.
Change of venue
From April 2019 meetings will be held at Quay Church Hall. The venue is more welcoming with better ambience and much better acoustics, which are all points raised by members as problems with our present venue. Although the Hall is not sited in a car-park, the local car-parks are only a very short walk away, and will, of course, be free of charge in the evenings.
Change of day
From April 2019, meetings will be held on the second Tuesday, not the second Thursday, of each month, as that is when Quay Hall is available.
We have two vacancies on our committee this year, Treasurer and Programme Secretary. These are both vital roles so, if you are able to spare a couple of hours a month to help, please let us know!
